Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Is the new arrivals upload on the site not until Weds/Thurs?

    1. I think they're usually in-store by Tues and online by Wed, IIRC, but hopefully someone else can confirm.

    2. Super slim pickings right now. At least that means JC has been able to clear out a bunch of their old inventory. I hope there are also additional items than what just comes up when you type in pre-order.

    3. @Cass, I hope there will be additional items, too, than what is currently showing up. I received my catalog on Sat. and I noticed some cute sandals that may or may not be showing up in Preorder currently -- I think they were a light color (off-white?) with a block heel, ankle strap closure and tiny, colorful heels decorating the front part of the toe slide.

    4. @TM93, do you mean pom-poms around the toe part? If so, azshoegirl posted those on IG and they are really cute!

    5. @Lauren, yes, those! I'll go look for her account right now, thanks for the tip!! I could swear that I'm following her but IG is so strange in how it orders everything for viewing. I think i miss posts as a result. :-(

    6. I think you mean the Lottie sandals with pom-poms? They come up when you search for "pre-order." I ordered a pair of the Elliot leather heels in navy which also come up in pre-order. The heel height looks management like with those sandals.

  2. First time checking the JC site today and noticed that they finally fixed the pricing on that Eyelet dress -- currently seems to be sold out in all sizes in the green color, and in some sizes in the other two colors. Also noticed that it's no longer in the Sale section, but the price has been corrected to $98 to match the catalog. (Sort of - one entry still shows the old $138, but when you add it to the cart it now shows as $98, and eligible for the 25% promo.) Someone really screwed up from the start with this particular item!

    1. Wow, I wonder if they'll restock. Since they aren't in stores yet I guess it's just online that sold out in some sizes? Sad that they lost money on a new arrival. I can't wait to hear reviews of it and I hope I ordered the right size. :) also hope they let you exchange for the petite. :)

    2. Thanks, Jan, you're very sweet to remember my Petite crisis! It's OK if they don't allow me to exchange, I know sometimes they price those categories separately for whatever reason. I can still get it hemmed (using the money I saved from the sale! :-p) Hope your size works and I'm curious to hear how everyone likes this dress!

Also curious to see what everyone thinks of the new roll-out. Jan, I know you're a fellow skirt enthusiast so I'm wondering whether you like the new Pencil Skirt with rickrack trim? It comes in a white and that's actually a skirt color i want for summer. And it comes in Petite! :-D

    3. Hi TM93, I think the white pencil skirt with Rick rack is very pretty and the Rick rack is subtle but adds a little something compared to a plain white pencil. Since it's linen I wonder about the wrinkle factor, hopefully not too bad. I have a bit of a white obsession with skirts and dresses (bad idea with toddlers). :) I'm looking forward to bringing the white clip dot skirt from last summer out again.
I just noticed there's one review online for the eyelet dress already.

    4. I like the circle skirt with rick rack trim as well, the shaping at the bottom is similar to last year's scallop shapes, and I love design details like that. Hmmm...reminds me that I have a brand new grommet top with scalloped hem from last year that I haven't worn yet, but another month before I'll be contemplating sleeveless anything!
Other than that, I'm really happy to see the low, block-heel sandal trend continuing (the embroidered slingbacks are beautiful!), and the embroidered Tippi with the palm tress stopped me dead in my tracks. I'm glad to see some winners in the pre-orders, because as I scrolled through the new arrivals page, I asked myself if I'd even be looking twice at any of it if it wasn't labeled J.Crew, and the sad answer is "No". The only thing that caught my eye aside from the pretty Florida cardi was the sailboat tee that everyone is raving about, and I'm not even into boats!

  3. I fell off the slow-shopping wagon this past week -- just couldn't resist the plethora of sales + free shipping. JC's navy polka dot silk square scarf ($25) was arguably a need, to wear with buttondowns at work. Madewell's high-rise skinnies in Shaw (grey) wash weren't really a need, but they've already arrived and I seem to be between sizes so I'll likely return, no harm no foul. But, this morning I ordered four, count 'em four, t-shirts from Factory. $10 a pop and I wear (and wear out) many doing yardwork, etc -- but even so, I have a whole stack of tees in my closet and really didn't need more. Oh well . . .

Definitely not on sale but a splurge/need: Cuyana's new wool bomber is on its way. If it fits, I expect this to be a "forever" piece.

    1. @cobalt, I know exactly how that goes! You do really well, stick to the plan, than BAM, outta nowhere, a couple of irresistible sales that set you off your game! I've done that, too, with the knowledge that I know some items won't work out due to fit and whatnot. It sounds like you did pretty well, though, all things considered, even with the tees (you'll definitely get a lot of use out of them!) The wool bomber sounds awesome! (insert heart-eyed emoji!)

    2. Cobalt, I was looking at the cuyana bomber! Are you on IG? Pls post pictures/your review of the bomber once you get it!

  4. I stopped by this weekend and was sad to find out that all my favorite SAs are no longer working there. It feels like such a different experience shopping there. I went from feeling like family to being ignored and encountered a bit of a bad attitude from the new SAs working there. I exchanged a damaged item and was asked "Is that it? THAT's the damage?" I was extremely disappointed. Needless to say I returned the item and didn't even look around. Really sad state of affairs at the Crew, and perhaps an indication of why they are taking a nosedive. The merchandise looked super sparse on the shelves from what I could see, and the only thing that seemed to be selling well is that sailboat tee. Really cute in person and soft! C'mon J. Crew, you can do better!

    1. Wow, that is terrible! I'm sorry that all of your regular sales associates left and that you had to deal with poor customer service. Why does she think you would want to spend money on something that is damaged at all? She probably wouldn't spend her hard earned money on damaged goods. It doesn't matter how damaged it is!
On a similar note I have been using Poshmark lately to sell some stuff I've been trying to purge (I've purchased a thing or two as well ;), and I can't believe the number of things I've come across that people are selling with holes in them?! I could see maybe buying something secondhand with a missing button for a good price, but holes? I don't even donate things like that from my closet much less sell.

    2. if the item flying off the shelves is a basic linen (sailboat) tee...they had better stick to what the do best. nevermind the off the shoulder tops ...

    3. Anthro Blogger I totally hear ya, when I knew the SAs and had a VPS shopping was such a fun exciting & experience. Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one feeling this way about the crew.

    4. Most of the SAs are gone at my store too but I'm starting to build some new relationships.

  5. @Lauren Thank you for your empathy, I have to admit it was quite shocking. I grew up in an underprivileged household where clothes got mended until they fell apart, so I thought maybe I was being oversensitive, but I have to admit that the idea of mending something right out of the package doesn't seem all that appealing no matter what your background is.
And yes to the Poshmark thing! Insane what people sell on there and also what they expect. JCrew does well there and I have a couple of JCrew things listed, NWT, and keep getting offers that are 90% off my price, which is already 75% off retail. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now!
