More is More: J.Crew Sale's On With 200 New Styles Added

"Thanks!" to  many of you who shared the following email from J.Crew.

J.Crew is reminding customers that they can take an additional 40% to 50% off final sale styles with promo code SALETIME. This offer expires February 1, 2015.

J.Crew is also letting everyone know that they added 200 new items to their sale section. Things are moving (but not as fast as I am sure J.Crew would like them to).

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are excited to get? Please share!

  1. A great sale! Is it spring yet!? So tired of snow….looking through the spring catalogs will cheer me up!

  2. I'll be posting individual reviews of new arrivals over the next week. For now, here's an overview in this post. I tried on over 20 items. Rynetta of J Crew Is My Fav Store has started reviewing new items, too.

  3. Same old sale stuff... was surprised to see the wool mock neck dress added to sale already. I just ordered the v neck cardigan (09160) and merino sweater in stripe (B7425) at about $35 each. Should have ordered them yesterday when there was free shipping....

  4. Does anyone have reviews on the Campbell capris in the Ivory color. I love these pants but I wonder if they are see through in ivory, I don't like it when you pocket lining in white/ivory pants. Thanks!

    1. the wool ones are pretty nice- not lined but thick enough no see through issues- didn't see the pockets through....but I still wear nude underneath.

  5. OT but I'm loving Anthro's Feb offerings. I haven't shopped there in a long time but I found a lot of pieces with all natural materials for pretty much the same point as J. Crew.

    1. Agreed - so modern, pretty and fresh! Very appealing. Nice prints.

And there's a store close to me so I can check out the clothes in person. I don't live near any malls, so it is hard for me to get to J Crew to see things IRL.

    2. Agreed, I think Anthro also had some cute items for winter 2014, I got a blue midi skirt (poly but substantial) for a decent price on sale, and a wool//mettalic skirt from Tracy Reese at great price too. Very pleased

  6. Still waiting for Cambridge Cable sweaters to go on sale. I can't understand why they aren't, and they are definitely not worth full price.

    1. i got them for 25% off during one of the global promos. i think they're worth that price. all i've gotten from j. crew recently are non-exciting sweaters/turtlenecks and a down puffer. but i wear them all the time!

    2. I got a turtleneck during the 40% off promo earlier in the month and that felt like the right price. It pills from being under my winter coat. It pills when I think too hard. I may give up on getting one in black and hope they improve the yarn next year.

    3. The inside pocket on both of my North Face down puffers cause serious pilling on everything. I noticed pilling in the same spot on all of my knits and realized the cause. Now the inside pockets are covered with very fashionable silver tape and voila - no more pilling from the seams of the pocket rubbing. Classy, right? ;)

    4. The Cambridge Cable turtleneck sweaters have been pilly like that for years, A Proper Bostonian. I think I bought mine 3 years ago, same problems. I bought the Laundress Sweater Comb (J. Crew still sells it) and finally tried it on some of my pilling sweaters and it's worked great. I'm so much less annoyed now when sweaters pill.

  7. I second A Proper Bostonian on the Cambridge Cables ... I need to replace some as they are a winter staple for me.

OT but interesting news in the fashion press today about Gap's Creative Director Rebekka Bay leaving the brand. Fast Company is speculating about a replacement ... Marissa Webb potentially being elevated to oversee all Gap brands in addition to her own label and BR, aaaaand maybe Jenna Lyons, who may be ready for a new challenge at the $6bil much larger Gap, as she "could be reaching her expiration date" after last year's staggering $608mil loss at J. crew.

    1. I think Marissa Webb is immensely talented and so I hope this is true!!! Not a big fan of Jenna to be honest, so if she leaves J Crew it won't break my heart. But J Crew needs a better stylist, IMO.

    2. News today. Jones of New York closing stores. What store is next on the chopping Block ???

    3. Interesting....I wonder if Jenna will really leave J.Crew, only because she's a member of the CFDA, and it helps elevate the brand with her being tied to the brand, I wonder how that fares with Anna Wintour and the fashion organization, just a hunch, I could be wrong.

  8. Went to my B&M to check out the new arrivals but it was strangely empty, empty shelves and racks. They had a bunch of new items but other areas just empty. The men's section was full. Very little new in the sale section, were running the same 40% off FS. Maybe they haven't received a complete new stock yet?

  9. Ok, I bit on the stationery clutch in embossed leather (the lizard print). I love this bag and had ordered it previously but returned it because I thought I didn't need another clutch at the time. Wrong! Apparently I need it so badly that now I'm willing to pay the shipping , too. Lol. But seriously, this clutch is very prettyand neutral so I'm sure I'll get some wear out of it.
