"Looking to LOVE" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to LOVE with J.Crew" post, a place to share our favorite experiences with J.Crew.

  1. Gotta love the shoe contrast at J Crew this season.

    On the one hand, they paired up with Sophia Webster, and those styles are pretty much sold out. I have a sneaking suspicion that the good folks buying these shoes are not regular J Crew customers.

    On the other hand, they are hawking Birkenstocks, and there don't appear to be any buyers (even though the blurb tells us that these sandals will be EVERYWHERE this season). My hunch is that the folks who wear Birks (JC customers or not) already have their retail relationship settled for that brand. Some of my best friends wear Birks :) but wouldn't buy them from JC.

    And I don't know how many Sophia Webster customers are also Birkenstock owners (or prospects). More evidence of brand confusion IMO.

  2. And I wouldn't wear either shoe! Neither are "J Crew." Or, if that is J Crew now; then I need to find a new retailer.

  3. I love the Sophia Websters, but the heels are too high for me. I've looked at her flats on the Nordies site, but haven't pulled the trigger because I'm just not sure the cost really is worth it.

  4. I received the new Malta sandals in burnt sienna and absolutely love them. Had a great customer service experience ordering them over the phone too. Now if only I would get my rewards gift card!

  5. I bought the Lulu Frost shoe clips in the Emerald color on a whim and feel head over heels as soon as I put them on my satin Everly pumps. Talk about an upgrade. Instant wow!

  6. One more shout out to J. Crew for fixing the sale section of their web site! Excellent job. The site loads fast now, has the option for 100 per page, and lets you jump to the page you want. This is a huge improvement!!
